Abstract: Introduction: The pandemic caused by COVID-19, had an overwhelming impact not only in Republic of Moldova but also worldwide on social, economic, political areas, etc., generating fierce controversy regarding the ethical and moral dilemmas of infecting medical staff with COVID-19. Material and methods: Data analysis of scientific works, national and international statistical data referred to the volume of infection of medical staff with COVID-19, analytical programs on this topic. Purpose: Evaluation and elucidation of the bioethical size of the process of involving the medical staff in first line of fighting COVID-19 and consequently, exposed to high risk of contamination. Conclusion: The study highlighted that the overwhelming majority of the medical staff involved in the fight against COVID-19 remained faithful to the bioethical principles, fully assuming all the enormous risks to which they are exposed on a daily basis, altruistically compensating the serious mistakes made by the government in the fight against the pandemic.
