Abstract: Abstract Introduction: Traditional methods of morphological studies cannot unambiguously assess the role of the radiation factor in brain damage. The aim of the work was to simulate changes in protein content in neurons of the parietal cortex after fractionated gamma irradiation. Material and method: The study was performed on 180 male rats at the age of 4 months, exposed to gamma irradiation in total doses of 0.1; 0.2; and 1 Gy in equal portions for 5 days. The morphometric parameters and dynamics of the protein content in neurons were evaluated over the entire life span of the animals. When processing the results, we used parametric criteria and mathematical modeling. Result: In control and irradiated animals, wave-like changes in the protein content in neurons occur throughout life, with a gradual decrease in indicators towards the end of life. Regression analysis showed that irradiation at the studied doses has a nonlinear stochastic effect on the protein content in neurons, does not have a dose-time relationship, and does not cause significant organic changes in the brain. Conclusion: no significant radiation-induced changes in the content and topochemistry of the products of histochemical reactions were detected in the detection of protein in neurons of the parietal cortex.
