Abstract: Abstract Background: Currently, chronic nasal obstruction due to chronic hypertrophic rhinitis is one of the most common problems encountered in rhinology. The aim of the study: to determine the morphological changes in the lower nasal concha hypertrophy caused by hypertrophic chronic rhinitis in children and the local influence of local medicines. Material and methods: To realize our aims were analized 100 patients with unilateral or bilateral to hypertrophic chronic rhinitis hospitalized in the pediatric department of Otorhinolaryngology from Emilian Cotaga Hospital, clinical base of State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Nicolae Testemitanu”. The research has been focused on clinical observation of the patient surgery protocols, as well as fragments resulting from the resection of the inferior nasal concha. Results: Inferior nasal concha suffers substantial and irreversible chronic hypertrophic changes in all tissue layers. The research demonstrates the efficacy of local used drugs with vasoconstriction and antiinflamatory proprietes in the simptomatic treatment of the chronic hypertrophic rhinitis. Conclusions: Both medicines reduces local morphological changes by reducing the inflammatory process, the degree of vein congestion, the degree of hyperplasia of the glands, but their effect is relatively short and is associated with their permanent usage, which may later develop tolerance and increasing need for their use.
