AMPK şi sindromul metabolic: aspecte genetice

Abstract

AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) is involved in the real-time control of energy metabolism, both at the cellular level and at the whole body level. Significant deregulations of some of the signaling pathways mediated by this enzyme have been implicated in the pathophysiology of the metabolic syndrome and its morbid complications. The dysfunctions of these pathways have a certain genetic influence and some alleles of AMPK genes could contribute to it.

AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) este implicată în controlul în timp real al metabolismului energetic, atât la nivel celular cât şi la nivelul întregului organism. Dereglări semnificative ale unora dintre căile de semnalizare mediate de către această enzimă au fost implicate în fiziopatologia sindromului metabolic şi a complicaţiilor sale morbide. Factorii de natură genetică au o anumită influenţă în dereglarea acestor căi şi unele alele polimorfice ale genelor AMPK ar putea contribui la aceasta.
