Background. Access to online pharmacy services is an attractive option for consumers of medicines that provides them with a positive community pharmacy experience. Robust evidence is relevant to support the need for and effectiveness of these services at the regulatory level and from a quality of pharmaceutical care and patient satisfaction perspective. Objective of the study. Content audit analysis of official pharmacy network websites to describe determinants of consumer decisions to purchase pharmaceuticals online. Material and methods. The legislative framework related to this aspect of the pharmaceutical activity and the content of the websites were analyzed, namely - website interface, product availability and variability, format, compartments, keywords, information about medicines, privacy policy and data security, payment and delivery options, consumer reviews. Results. Following content audit analysis of the official websites of 3 pharmacy networks - Felicia, Farmacia Familiei and Hippocrates, it was determined that saving time, diversity of products, as well as the possibility to take advantage of special offers and discounts become key motivational factors for purchases in online pharmacies. Also, after the analysis of the legislation in the field, no legislative norm was found to cover the online dispensing of medicines. Conclusion. Online pharmacies have become an important element in ensuring the accessibility of medicines, bringing convenience and efficiency in the health care of patients, but in order to guarantee the quality of pharma ceutical products and the safety of the services provided to each consumer, more attention is needed from the authorities regulating this sector through changes and adjustments in the regulations.
