Abstract: Bone metabolism is influenced by numerous regulatory mechanisms. Some of them are changed in Diabetes mellitus type 1. We have studied a group of 38 of patients with Diabetes mellitus type 1 and have established reduced bone mineral density in considerable number of cases. Salmon calcitonine, administered in these patients, was efficient for bone symptoms; glycemic control improvement was also noticed.
