dc.description.abstractCardiovascular disease (CV) is the world’s leading cause of mortality, with annual loss of more than 17 million lives [3]. The aim: to assess family doctor skills and to detect barriers in the management of patients at risk for cardiovascular events. Selective descriptive study was based on questioning of 162 family doctors. The data obtained revealed that 159 (98.1%) respondents correctly rated cardiovascular risk, 99 (61.1%) selected the optimal treatment solution and only ½ of the interviewee’s physicians were determined in the patient’s appointment for the physical exercise test. Most family physicians apply cardiovascular risk assessment methods 99.4% and interpret the results appropriately în 98.1 %, the proportion of follow-up to optimal therapeutic recommendations is 61.0 % cases. As physician considers important obstacles in the control of cardiovascular diseases is low compliance to recommendation – 75.4% and the exhaustive number of recommended drugs – 67.3% cases.en_US
