In the article were addressed two aspects which contribute to the limitation of the accessibility and availability of opioid analgesics for pain relief: barriers from national legislative texts and the current used terms, considered improper for medical domain. Attention was focused, especially, on the MOH Order nr. 434 from the 28-th of November 2007, where were identified text formulations which could be qualified as „barriers” and for which were proposed explained reformulations. The INCB and WHO’ recommendations regarding necessity to remove legislative barriers from national legal frame were remembered and was presented examples of drug legislation modifications in different states, in order to facilitate patient access to opioid analgesics. There was signalled improper for medicine use of the terms „drugs” and „ narcotics”, which come from juridical language, in stead of „opioid analgesic”.en_US
