Abstract. Solidago genus (Asteraceae family) comprises about 100-120 species, including S. virgaurea L. sp. which occurs in the spontaneous flora of the Republic of Moldova. Phytochemical studies were carried out on the vegetable product Solidaginis virgaureae herba, that demonstrated the presence of phenolic compounds, especially flavonoids and phenolic acids. These active ingredients are responsible for the urinary antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and diuretic action, the last one is being considered the most important. The topicality of species from Solidago g. in Moldova is reflected by the insufficient complex studies on the biology, phytochemistry and pharmacological actions of them.en_US
