Both benign and malign tumors are the most frequent causes of one-eyed exophthalmos, being responsible for more than 90% of retrospectively examined cases. Studied group included 652 patients consulted at the Radiology Department of the PMSI Clinical Republican Hospital. Males slightly predomined in the studied group. Conventional X-ray supported by some specialized methods was enough for diagnosis of the one-eyed exophthalmos in approximatelly 2/3 of cases. The rest of patients need more advanced imaging method application, especially computed tomography (more valuable in the patients with bones’ affections) as well as magnetic resonance imaging (high diagnostic efficiency in the soft tissues’ affection).
