The ethics of implant technology is one of the cutting-edge technologies addressed currently by bioethics. This article intends to contribute to the ethical discourse of orthopedic implant technology, by addressing the ethical issues imposed by the new types of implants applied in orthopedic surgery. These are mechanisms designed to attach muscles to tendons and bones, in order to improve postoperative joint function. This technology presents significant engineering challenges, including designing materials and devices, determining implant evaluation values, validating the procedure and reducing risks. The present study will focus on one of the problems of bioethics regarding implants, namely the question „In what way does the hybridization of the human body or the combination of mechanical and biological components, affect the self-awareness and cultural identity of individuals?”en_US
