The most frequent cause of infertility by anovulation is represented by the polycystic ovary syndrome(POS), a complex metabolic syndrome associated with multiple metabolic perturbations (obesity, hirsutism, insulinoresistence, enlarged ovaries with polycyclic aspect). The cystic changes in ovaries of patients with thyroidopaties have been observed by many authors, but the mechanisms of the interrelations of these pathologies weren’t sufficiently studied. The article presents the results of investigation of 60 patients with POS. The clinical and preclinical data are included. Stimulation test with hypothalamic hormone thyrolyberin (TRH) was performed on 25 patients.T3,T4,TSH,PRL hormones in the serum were determined before and during the test. The direct correlation of prolactin secretion and functional state of the hypothalamo-pituitary-thyroid system was established. Even the subclinical forms of hypothyroidy, revealed on the stimulation test with TRH have been proved to cause disturbance in prolactin secreation in POS.
