Varicose veins of the lower limbs have an increased incidence worldwide in recent years. Despite the fact that there were new methods of treatment or were upgraded old ones, postoperative recurrence rate of varicose veins remains high and has not a tendency to decrease. If in the clinical and imaging diagnosis have been established points of consensus on the operative management of varicose veins, then the current data in the literature suffer from some uniformity gaps, when it is proposed to define recurrence of varicose veins, time of appearance and the methods used pre- and postoperative to reduce its rate.
