Special Issue: Abstracts of the EAO 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting. Publication of this supplement was sponsored by the European Association for Osseointegrationen_US
Background: Data analysis over years is the main judge which determines the treatment efficiency. Nowadays, the effectiveness of implant treatment is appreciated on the success criteria of the applied two stage dental implants, proposed in 1986 by T. Albrektsson et al. Three main indices for determination of implant treatment quality have been suggested during the ICOI Consensus Conference (Pisa, Italy, 2007): success rate, survival rate and the failure rate of implant-prosthetic treatment. As soon as the two-piece dental implants have been applied in day-by-day practice, the one-piece implants became ignored. There are few reports in the literature about comparative analysis of the effectiveness of implant-prosthetic rehabilitation with onepiece vs. two-piece dental implants.en_US
