Meningococcal infection continue to be an actual problem that frequently affects children both in Republic of Moldova and in other countries. It’s one of the most serious infectious disease that evolve under different clinical forms such as localized, generalized, or associated one, also including central nervous system injuries. Thus in the last years were observed sporadic cases with meningococcal infection, it still remain a major problem, because young children often develop generalized forms with fulminant evolution and serious consequences. During the (2010-2015) years, we analysed in a retrospective and prospective way 43 cases with meningococcal infection in Municipal Infectious Diseases Hospital for Children and observed that more affected were children untill five years. In recent years we met cases of disease in the summer time, which fared with a serious evolution and were successfully treated. Frequently we observed associated forms of meningococcal infection. Neisseria meningitidis type C was etiologic agent most confirmed.
