Rotaviruses are one of the most common causes of severe gastroenteritis and dehydration in children up to 5 years of age. Rotavirus infection is a significant public health problem due to a remarkable clinical, paraclinic and epidemiological polymorphism. The study results found the widespread and complicated development of rotavirus infection in infants, more often affecting those older than 6 months. Most cases of rotavirus infection were recorded during the cold period of the year, boys being more affected than girls. Most of affected children were not immunized against rotavirus infection.
