Summary. In the study were included 71 patients with CRF, stage V (kDOQI) who were on dialysis in the department of hemodialysis (HD) in the CNŞPMU between 2005-2010. The mean age was 45,18±2,43 years (27 – 75 years). The male/female ratio was 36/35. The mean treatment period of iterative HD was 7,62±0,95 years (2-16 years). According to the type of vascular access (VA) predominated native arterio-venous fistulas (AVF): primary VA – AVF radio cephalic in 49 (57,71%), secondary VA – AVF elbow in 9 (12,7%), tertiary VA – AVF using the synthetic graft (PTFE) in 18 (25,3%) cases. In 3 (4,2%) patients due to the absence of vascular access suitable for AVF the HD is performed via a central venous catheter.en_US
