Authors: Breahnă, Radu; Turtureanu, Irina
Abstract: This paper is focused on Functional Electrical Stimulation, a technique that uses electrical
stimuli to reestablish the normal activity of organs deprived of nervous control. The concept
itself is described along with information about its origin, history, current application and future
development. The paper also presents a FES device, developed by the authors, and the
experimental results of its testing.

Abstract: The function of living cells is controlled by complex regulatory networks that are built of a
wide diversity of interacting molecular components. Recent technological developments have
enabled single-cell measurements of cellular macromolecules which can shed new light on
processes underlying gene expression. Correspondingly, there is a need for the development of
theoretical tools to quantitatively understand gene expression and its consequences for cellular
processes. The review focuses attention on the necessity of modeling and mentions the basic
stages in the mathematical dynamical modeling in biological processes.

Authors: Vovc, Victor; Moldovanu, Ion; Sidorenko, Ludmila; Ganenco, Andrei
Abstract: The present study included the examination of 37 people, basically healthy. The results of
the study show that in 85% of cases prevails the cognitive component of emotions’ perception in
psychoemotional evoked states (SPE) – positive or negative, was observed a reduction of heart
rate variability. By method of imagining we've caused the required psychoemotional state
specifically- happiness and fear (real and virtual fear). The presence of the mentioned emotions
we have confirmed using the following questionnaires - The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire
(OHQ) (for joy) and the Spielberger-Hanin State and Trait Anxiety Questionnaire (for fear). The
effected study shows, that emotions of happiness do not always provoke an increase of HCV and
151
fear does not always decrease HCV. Respiratory pattern reacts very sensitive by changes, on
components of the corresponding emotions - the cognitive and affective component. In
continuation of our investigation we will study every component separately, in reference to
the changes in respiratory pattern.

Spielberger-Hanin State and Trait Anxiety Questionnaire (pentru frică).
respirator.
