Anul 2025 marchează 180 de ani de la nașterea sa, o ocazie distinctă pentru a valorifica și readuce în atenția comunității științifice contribuțiile sale în domeniul dat. Scopul cercetării. Cercetarea, identificarea și valorificarea publicațiilor inedite ale celebrului cercetător științific de talie mondială în domeniul medicinii, Ilia Mecinikov. Material și metode. În desfăşurarea cercetării au fost aplicate următoarele metode: documentarea, analiza, sinteza, inducția şi deducţia. Rezultate. În rezultatul cercetării au fost identificate mai multe publicații ale savantului, care pot fi clasificate drept inedite. Prezentul studiu se concentrează asupra a trei publicaţii de acest tip, selectate pentru valoarea lor documentară şi relevanţa ştiinţifică deosebită. Articolul oferă o analiză complexă a acestor publicații, abordând geneza lor,contextul istoric al elaborării, relevanţa tematică, structura conceptuală, precum şi aprecierea posterității etc. Concluzii. Publicațiile inedite identificate în colecţiile Bibliotecii Ştiinţifice Medicale constituie documente de valoare ştiinţifică şi patrimonială, îmbogăţind fondul instituţiei şi confirmând importanţa acesteia în conservarea şi promovarea moştenirii intelectuale a savantului Ilia Mecinikov.; Abstract: This study analyzes the unpublished publications of the eminent scholar Ilia Mecinikov, a world-renowned figure in the field of medical sciences, originally from Bessarabia on his paternal side. The year 2025 marks the 180th anniversary of his birth, a distinct opportunity to capitalize on and bring back to the attention of the scientific community his contributions in this field. Research purpose. Research, identification and exploitation of unpublished publications of the famous world-class scientific researcher in the field of medicine, Ilia Mecinikov. Material and methods. The following methods were applied in the research: documentation, analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction. Results. As a result of the research, several publications of the scholar were identified, which can be classified as unpublished. The present study focuses on three publications of this type, selected for their documentary value and special scientific relevance. The article offers a complex analysis of these publications, addressing their genesis, the historical context of their elaboration, thematic relevance,conceptual structure, as well as the appreciation of posterity, etc. Conclusions. The unpublished publications identified in the collections of the Medical Scientific Library constitute documents of scientific and patrimonial value, enriching the institution’s fund and confirming its importance in preserving and promoting the intellectual legacy of scholar Ilia Mecinikov. The bibliophilic assets of the R. Koch Collection are increasingly represented in the digital environment, and their accessibility contributes to transforming heritage documents from passive resources into dynamic sources of knowledge relevant to research. The aim of the article is to analyze and identify the ways in which the R. Koch Collection can be valorized, preserved, and made accessible through digital technologies. In 2024, the Scientific Medical Library launched the “Dr. R. Koch Digital Library,” a project dedicated to the promotion and digitization of the rare and old book collection associated with Richard Koch. The integration of the Koch Collection into the digital environment is not only an opportunity but also a necessity, as its value can be enhanced through modern information access tools. Constituirea reţelei de biblioteci medicale din Republica Moldova începe în anul 1944 prin fondarea unei mici biblioteci în cadrul Școlii de felceri și moașe din Chișinău, deschise în același an. În anul 1945 își încep activitatea Biblioteca Institutului de Stat de Medicină din Chișinău și Biblioteca Republicană Științifico-Medicală. În anii 1946-1947 sunt deschise Școli de felceri și moașe, precum și Școli de surori medicale în mai multe localități din republică, care sunt dotate cu mici biblioteci. Grație unor politici elaborate la nivel unional și republican în următorii ani și orientate spre dotarea instituțiilor medicale de nivel republican, raional și orășenesc cu biblioteci, numărul acestora crește considerabil. Astfel, la începutul anilor șaptezeci ai secolului trecut în RSS Moldovenească activează peste o sută de biblioteci medicale. Începând cu anul 1990 numărul bibliotecilor medicale este în scădere constantă și la începutul anului 2025 își confirmă activitatea doar 11. Scopul studiului constă în realizarea unei sinteze a dezvoltării rețelei de biblioteci medicale din 1944 până în present, stabilirea factorilor, care au contribuit la evoluția pozitivă a bibliotecilor medicale pe parcursul a patru decenii, precum și la involuția acestora în ultimele decenii. Datele au fost prelevate din mai multe publicații, precum și din notele informative cu privire la activitatea bibliotecilor medicale din rețea, incluse în rapoartele Bibliotecii Științifice Medicale a USMF ”Nicolae Testemițanu”, iar anterior a Bibliotecii Științifice Medicale a Institutului de Stat de Medicină din Chișinău și a Bibliotecii Republicane Științifice Medicale. Au fost analizate ”Cercetările statistice anuale 6-c ”Activitatea bibliotecilor medicale din Republica Moldova”, prezentate de fiecare bibliotecă, precum și sinteza statistică anuală pe rețea (pentru anii 2006 – 2024). Rezultatele obținute ne permit să afirmăm, că bibliotecile medicale au o istorie bogată în activitatea sa de 80 de ani de existență, înregistrând pe parcursul anilor atât o evoluție pozitivă cât și o involuție la acest capitol.; Abstract. The development of the medical library network in the Republic of Moldova began in 1944 with the establishment of a small library within the School of Feldshers and Midwives in Chișinău, opened in the same year. In 1945, the Library of the State Medical Institute of Chișinău and the Republican Scientific Medical Library commenced their activity. During 1946–1947, Schools of Feldshers and Midwives, as well as Schools of Nursing, were opened in several localities across the republic, each equipped with small libraries. Due to policies developed at both union and republican levels in subsequent years, aimed at providing medical institutions at republican, district, and municipal levels with libraries, their number increased considerably. Thus, by the early 1970s, more than one hundred medical libraries were operating in the Moldavian SSR. Beginning in 1990, the number of medical libraries has been in continuous decline, with only 11 libraries remaining active by the beginning of 2025. The aim of the study is to synthesize the development of the medical library network from 1944 to the present, to identify the factors that contributed to its positive evolution over four decades, as well as those that led to its decline in recent decades. Data were collected from various publications and from informational reports on the activity of medical libraries within the network, included in the reports of the Scientific Medical Library of the “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as its predecessor institutions - the Scientific Medical Library of the State Medical Institute of Chișinău and the Republican Scientific Medical Library. Annual statistical reports (Form 6-c) entitled “Activity of Medical Libraries in the Republic of Moldova,” submitted by each library, as well as the annual network-wide statistical synthesis (for the years 2006–2024), were analyzed. Results. The findings allow us to conclude that medical libraries have a rich history over their 80 years of existence, marked by both significant development and decline over time. Sunt prezentate contribuțiile esențiale ale profesorilor Jules Guiart și Valeriu Bologa la dezvoltarea unei biblioteci specializate, în contextul istoriei învățământului medical clujean. Lucrarea sintetizează etapele de organizare, conservare și recuperare a volumelor vechi, evidențiind elementele bibliofile (ex-librisuri, însemnări, legături originale) și analiza unor titluri reprezentative. The article examines the origins of the “Valeriu Bologa” Library and the formation of its rare medical book collection, derived from the holdings of the Department of the History of Medicine at the “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy. It highlights the significant contributions of Professors Jules Guiart and Valeriu Bologa to the development of a specialized library, within the broader context of the history of medical education in Cluj. The study synthesizes the stages of organization, preservation, and recovery of rare volumes, with particular emphasis on bibliophilic features (bookplates, marginal annotations, original bindings), and includes an analysis of representative works. The conclusions underscore the importance of this collection as a major documentary resource for research in the history of medicine and as a component of Transylvanian academic heritage.
