Eficacitatea administrării de anti-VEGF (Bevacizumab) la pacienții cu degenerescență maculară legată de vârstă, forma exudativă

Abstract

Age related macular degeneration is an increasing problem in ophthalmology. Current treatment options can delay progression and continue researches can discover new ways to halt and reverse the degenerative processes of the retina. The study was made on the examination results of two groups of patients: the first basic group 37 patients (39 eyes), that followed an intravitreal treatment with Avastin (Bevacizumab) and the control group 20 patients (20 eyes), that followed the usual treatment. The visual functions of the patients from the first basic group were improved after the first intravitreal injection, visual acuity was increased in 92% cases, the reduction of scotoma’ s surface with 62% and macula’ s thickness in 92 % in comparison with the control group.

Una din problemele de bază de diagnostic şi tratament în oftalmologie rămîne a fi degenerescenţa maculară legată de vârstă (DMLV) forma exudativă. Aplicarea metodelor moderne de tratament pot încetini progresul patologiei, iar cercetările continue pot descoperi noi modalităţi de stopare şi reversie a proceselor degenerative a retinei. Studiul a fost efectuat în baza rezultatelor examinării a două loturi de pacienţi, lotul de bază 37 pacienţi (39 ochi), ce au urmat tratament intravitrian cu Bevacizumab (Avastin) şi lotul martor 20 pacienţi (20 ochi), ce au urmat tratament tradiţional. La pacienţii din lotul de bază funcţiile vizuale s-au îmbunătăţit după prima injecţie intravitriană, majorarea acuităţii vizuale s-a stabilit în 92% cazuri, micşorarea suprafeţei scotomei în 62% şi grosimii maculei în 92% cazuri în comparaţie cu lotul de control unde nu s-au urmărit modificări.
