Files from the history of the department of ophthalmology (teachers and disciples)

Abstract

Background. The content of this work includes historical data and information related to the historical course and the merits of some illustrious teachers of the USMF Department of Ophthalmology "Nicolae Testemițanu". Objective of the study. It aims to study the history and foundation of the ophthalmological profile in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the contribution of the most eminent pedagogues in the training of specialists inside of USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu". Material and Methods. The veridical information was taken and from the University Archive, from the documents presented by teachers and doc-tors, who had the opportunity to work with these personalities. Results. The Department of Ophthalmology was established in 1946, with a clinical base at the Republican Clinical Hospital. The first chief of the department was the university professor and habilitated doctor I. Kurlov, under whose leadership (1946-1959) many valuable ophthalmologists were trained. During 1959-1965, professor A. Dobromaslov was at the head of the department. In the period 1978-1986, the department was chaired by a distinguished organizer of ophthalmological care in the Republic of Moldova - associate professor Dr. D. Lupan. Within the department worked other doctors - scientists, ophthalmic surgeons, such as T. Gâțu, P. Goncear, L. Fastoveț, I. Bobu, Z. Papșeva, etc. Conclusion. During its existence, the Department of Ophthalmology of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemitanu" was and remains the school of ophthalmologists in the Republic of Moldova. Introducere. Conținutul acestei lucrări include date istorice și informație legată de parcursul istoric și meritele unor iluștri dascăli ai Catedrei de oftalmologie USMF „Nicolae Testemițanu". Scopul lucrării. Urmărește studierea istoriei și fondării profilului oftalmologic din Republica Moldova, evidențierea contribuției celor mai eminenți pedagogi în pregătirea specialiștilor în cadrul USMF „Nicolae Testemițanu”. Material și Metode. Informațiile veridice au fost preluate din arhiva universitară, din documentele prezentate de cadrele didactice și medicii, care au avut posibilitatea să activeze cu aceste personalități. Rezultate. Catedra de oftalmologie a fost înființată în 1946, având baza clinică la Spitalul Clinic Republican. Primul șef al catedrei a fost profesorul universitar, doctor habilitat I. Kurlov, sub conducerea căruia (1946-1959) au fost formate multe cadre de valoare. În perioada 1959-1965, la cârma catedrei s-a aflat profesorul A.Dobromâslov, după care catedra a fost condusă de conferențiarul L. Mikriucova (1965-1978). În perioada 1978-1986 în fruntea catedrei s-a aflat un distins organizator al asistenței oftalmologice în Republica Moldova — conferențiarul dr. D. Lupan. În cadrul catedrei au activat medici – savanți, oftalmochirurgi, așa ca T. Gâțu, P. Goncear, L. Fastoveț, I. Bobu, Z. Papșeva etc. Concluzii. Pe parcursul existenței sale, Catedra de oftalmologie a Universității de Stat de Medicină și Farmacie „Nicolae Testemițanu” a fost și este școala de educație a oftalmologilor din Republica Moldova.
