elaboration of a National Profile that regards the
sound management of chemicals in the Republic
of Moldova. The role of the Ministry of Health
is discussed in the context of chemical safety:
management strategy main functions and responsibilities of the Ministry of Health in assuring
chemical safety, medical and hygienic aspects of
the given problem during the implementation of
the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), legislative basis and
main informational sources for identification of
the most important problems associated with
