dc.description.abstract | Introduction • PIMS-TS is a multisystemic inflammatory disease provoked 3-4 weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection affecting 0.5-1% of the pediatric population. • It has unknown post-infectious pathogenesis based on genetic susceptibility.Purpose • To emphasize the unfolding nature of COVID-19 by describing the current peculiarities of PIMSTS patients. • To encourage its continued education.Material and methods. A literature review of the PubMed and the ScienceDirect databases using the above keywords.Conclusions • PIMS-TS patients present consequent SARS-CoV2 infection with severe acute manifestations. • They need hospitalization and a multidisciplinary approach for disease management and complication prevention. | en_US |
