Literature review demonstrated that ophthalmopathy caused by autoimmune system diseases of connective tissue is their common chronic progressive complication with clinical presentation that varies from olygosymptomatic forms to significant reduction in ocular function. „Dry eye” as well as "red eye" syndromes are prevalent manifestations of ophthalmopathy in rheumatologic diseases. Specific X-ray modifications characteristic to different rheumatologic affections allow to determine the diagnosis and to optimize the treatment in case of initially unclear etiology of the ophthalmic disease.
