Abstract
Mesenteric ischemia is defined as a component of the gastrointestinal ischemic diseases group, which is characterized
by limit or definitely stops of intestinal perfusion, mainly caused by circulatory disturbances of abdominal aorta’s odd
branches. One of the current questions in the diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia and its prevention is early identifying the
superior mesenteric artery’s structural disturbances (as the main vessel of the intestinal perfusion), which lead directly
to thrombogenesis. Despite well known factors of the thrombogenesis, although there are some specific elements of this
difficult mechanism, which are not often mentioned or not so well described. Their presence is caused by anatomical
and morphological peculiarities of the superior mesenteric artery towards its length, diameter, angio-architectonics, and
type of the ramification from abdominal aorta. All of these factors are directly connected with physics. These studies are
meant to describe relation between physics mechanism of the thrombosis and morphological variability of the superior
mesenteric artery.
