morphological domain, where every detail has application value, especially when referred to the
cardiovascular system. Arterial variability is caused by embryological disorders, which occur in
the vascular system and usually does not show functional disorders, but under certain conditions
can become fatal [1, 2].
Knowledge on the anatomical variants of the upper limb's blood vessels has become more
important in recent years due to the gradual increase in number of radiological procedures,
vascular surgeries and, last but not least, reconstructive surgeries, as the axilla and the arm are
the site of numerous traumatic vascular injuries caused by weapons, humerus fractures and
shoulder dislocations, with a frequency of up to 12% [3, 4]. [...]
