Abstract:
Summary.
Laparoscopy has begun to have a significant impact on the management of urologic problems.
Although initially limited to diagnostic pediatric problems, it has more recently been used to resolve
myriad adult urologic conditions. A retroperitoneal access is commonly used for open urological
procedures. Since the introduction of the balloon dissecting technique by Gaur this anatomical route
has also been used for laparoscopic surgery. We present our experience with retroperitoneoscopy
in 196 cases.
