Abstract

The chronic progressive evolution of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) often aggravated by short periods exacerbated symptoms. Often among these symptoms are those related to the respiratory system, such as coughing, dyspnea and sputum production, which may become purulent and have a significant negative impact on the progression of the disease. Condition exacerbations accelerate decline in lung function that characterizes COPD, and resuls in the decrease of physical ability and social activity, and the increase of emotional problems. All effects that great impact the quality of life. Frequent and severe symptom exacerbations are associated with a decrease in quality of life and an increase in the risk of mortality. Чрезвычайно важной характеристикой ХОБЛ является ее неуклонно прогрессирующее и инвалидизирующее течение, что закономерно сопровождается частыми обострениями, снижением функциональных легочных параметров, нарастанием респираторных симптомов, среди которых ведущим является одышка, кашель с выделением мокроты слизисто-гнойного характера. Клинико-функциональная эволюция ХОБЛ характеризуется нарастающей одышкой, снижением переносимости физических нагрузок и ухудшением качества жизни больных.
