Abstract:
Summary: This case report is a way to reveal an uncommon manifestation and evolution of the uveitis. A 28-year-old woman was diagnosed with acute panuveitis. The ophthalmological examination revealed severe vision loss at the left eye with ocular hyperemia, corneal precipitates, hypopion , posterior synechia, vitritis, oral, aphthous ulcerations. Clinical examinations detected positive serological tests for syphilis. The syphilis is like a very good imitator, it can simulate the different types of uveitis, with atypical signs and symptoms. Syphilis represent 0.1-2.5% from all the cases of uveitis. That’s why it’s very important to make a differential diagnostic and to detect a real etiological factor of uveitis.
