Abstract

Rezumat: Edemul macular diabetic (EMD) şi ocluzia de venă a retinei (OVR) reprezintă două cauze importante de scădere semnificativă a vederii şi cecitate, afectând 10mln şi respective 16mln de oameni global. Standardul de aur în tratamentul acestor afecţiuni, până nu demult era considerată laser fotocoagularea retinei. Studiile recente (RESTORE, TM DRCR, BRAVO, CRUISE, HORIZON) demonstrează eficacitatea agenţilor anti-VEGF (bevacizumab fiind primul omologat în practica oftalmologică) în tratamentul EMD şi OVR.
