Sindromul de fragilitate şi riscul de fracturi la pacienţii vârstnici din Republica Moldova

Abstract

Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease related with ageing and having as a complication atraumatic fractures. Estimation of fracutre risk using FRAX model is an approved method of assesement in the management of a pacient with osteoporosis. From the other side FRAX instrument does not take into consideration some conditions, such as age over 90, frailty syndrome. Frailty syndrome is another condition related with aging. This article shows the relationship and influence of frailty syndrome on the osteoporotic fracture risk. Frailty syndrome correlates positively with increased age, the presence of concomitant pathologies and risk of osteoporotic fractures.
