Abstract:	Summary. The article presents from a historical point of view the morbidity caused by tetanos in Republic of Moldova during the XX-th century and the medical efforts such as vaccination that led to the liquidation of this infection starting 1990’s. It also mentions future possibilities of evolution of this epidemiology. Резюме. В статье приводятся данные о заболеваемости населения Молдовы столбняком и о предпринятых мерах по борьбе с этой инфекцией, в основном путем вакцинации всего населения против столбняка асоциировaнными вакцинами и столбнячным анатоксином. В результате, на протяжении последних 15-ти лет эта инфекция в Р. Молдoвa не регистрируется. Предлагаются меры по поддержанию этой эпидемиологической ситуации на будущее.
