Asocierea tuberculozei la pacienţii tratați cu hemodializă şi după transplantarea renală

Abstract

Summary. The increased prevalence of tuberculosis (ТВ) in the high-risk groups of immunocompromized individuals such as patients after transplantation or with uremic immunodeficiency urges for good screening and anayisis. This study was performed with the aim to analyse the incidence and type of ТВ treated in the Hemodialysis and Kidney Transplantation Center during the last 20 years (1982-2002). The patients were divided in 2 groups: 100 patients on haemodialysis treatment and 250 patients after Kidney Transplantation. Our study confirms previous observations on higher prevalence of ТВ among the patients on hemodialysis and after kidney transplantation.
