Abstract: | Summary.
Prevention and protection of public health should be a top priority for any state. This chapter
of the monograph reflects the situation with injuries in the Republic of Moldova. These data
illustrate the lack of a fundamental injury monitoring system for effective prevention campaigns.
We also highlighted the role of promoting healthy lifestyles and health education in the
prevention of road, sports, domestic and other injuries. Injury prevention should be a key part of
all health promotion initiatives to improve injury, death and overall well-being. Improving and
strengthening the health of the population can be achieved only through fruitful intersectoral
cooperation and the achievement of partnerships between the state, civil society, medical and
educational institutions, legal entities, society and every citizen. |
