Abstract: As the need for the development of new medicines is pressing, notechnology has been applied to diverse medical fields such as oncology, cardiovascular medicine, pulmunology etc. Indeed, nanotechnology is being used to refine discovery of biomarkers, molecular diagnostics, drug discovery and drug delivery. The ideal nanopharmaceutical agent must be safe, biocompatible, biodegradable and stealthy-disguised well enough that the body's immune system will not recognize it as foreign. This requires a very delicate balance between successful detoxification and preventing toxicity with the nanopharmaceuticals. Din cauza necesităţilor crescînde de noi medicamente şi ţinînd cont de dezvoltarea nanotehnologiilor, acestea au fost aplicate în diferite domenii ale medicinei: oncologie, cardiologie, pulmunologie etc. Nanotehnologiile sunt utilizate pentru a rafina formularea biomarkerilor, diagnosticului molecular, formelor farmaceutice şi transportului la ţintă. Un nanomedicament ideal trebuie să fie sigur, biocompatibil, biodegradabil şi invizibil pentru sistemul imun. Aceste cerinţe necesită un echilibru foarte fin între beneficiile scontate şi riscurile care pot apărea la administrarea de nanoparticule.
