| Abstract: | Summary. Urethral stricture recidive represents the main extended complication after corrective surgery, which develops during the first 4 years after endourological treatment and at more than 5 years distance in case of open surgery. Mean incidence rate of urethral strictures is 37%. Studied material showed that sequentional algorithmic approach to the diagnosis and treatment of urethral strictures reduces the hospitalization time by 15-20%, decreases the risk of early complications from 15,6% 1995-1997 till 1,4% in 2004-2006 (p<0,001) as well as the incidence of recidives – from 53,8% in 2000 till 34,5% in 2003. |
