Abstract: Summary. Chronic kidney disease in modern countries has high prevalence and is associated with significant economic burden. Optimal strategy in the chronic kidney disease management nowadays is substantiated by the evidence based medicine. First steps in the right direction have been done yet in the Republic of Moldova: relevant guidelines for both specialists in the field and general practitioners has been carried out and further approved by corresponding regulating authorities. There also has been developed a special algorithm, which associated evidence based recommendations with every stage of the chronic kidney disease. Further activities in the field will include task group creation, National Registry elaboration and practical implementation of the yet existing recommendations.
