Summary The purpose of the study is to compare 2 methods of surgical treatment (cystectomy and cystotomy) in patients with odontogenic cysts of jaws. The clinical analysis of the applied treatment methods in patients with odontogenic cysts of jaws demonstrated that cystotomy have some advantages upon cystotomy technique: minimal trauma, decreased risk of important anatomical structures damage (mandibular channel, maxillary sinus, nasal cavity), decreases the risk of nerve/blood supply of adjacent teeth, the possibility to perform cystotomy in patients with decompensated concomitant deseases.
