Abstract

Rezumat. Microdonţia se traduce literalmente “dinţi mici”. Cînd această condiţie este prezentă, unul sau cîţiva dinţi au rădăcini scurte şi sunt mai mici decât cei normali, şi au o formă conică, alte malformaţii. De obicei, afectează un singur dinte ori o pereche de dinți, în special incisivii maxilari laterali sau molarii de minte. Aceasta impune un aspect agresiv, o malocluzie, şi posibil necesită un tratament estetic, folosind compozite directe.

Summary. Microdontia is literally “small teeth”. When this condition is present, one or more teeth have shortened roots and are smaller than normal, or they are cone-shaped or malformed in some other way. It commonly affects a single tooth or a pair of teeth, especially the maxillary laterals or the third molars. This can lead to an aggressive aspect, malocclusion, and possibly requiring correcting esthetic treatment.
