AbstractRezumat.
Abstract. The interest in studying medicinal plants continues to grow, driven by the need for their scientifically substantiated use in the prevention and treatment of various diseases. This work is focused on the species Solidago virgaurea, Hypericum perforatum, Agrimonia eupatoria, Galium verum, Cassia occidentalis, and Helichrysum italicum, all of which have a long tradition of ethnomedicinal use and are recognized as officinal remedies due to different classes of bioactive compounds with valuable pharmacological properties. Our objective was to evaluate the presence of polyphenolic compounds, which are responsible for a wide range of pharmacological effects, including astringent, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective actions – in these selected species, based on the existing literature data. By emphasizing the polyphenolic profile, this study aims to contribute to the efficient and sustainable valorization of medicinal plants, particularly in the context of global climate change.
