| Abstract: | Thesis structure: The thesis comprises 206 pages and consists of an Introduction, three chapters, General Discussion, General Conclusions, and Practical Recommendations. It is illustrated with 9 tables, 102 figures, and 4 appendices, and includes a bibliography comprising 301 references. The research findings have been published in 78 scientific papers. Key words: congenital edentulousness, malformations, dento-maxillary apparatus, diagnosis, interdisciplinary treatment, clinical protocol. Field of study: Dentistry, congenital dentitions. The purpose of the paper: Evaluation of the sample, methodical identification of the diagnosis and interdisciplinary treatment in patients with congenital edentulous teeth. Objectives of the study: Evaluation of the epidemiological characteristics of patients with malocclusions associated with congenital dentitions. Highlighting the methods of early detection of congenital edentations. Elaboration of clinical and paraclinical diagnostic methods. The normal development of the multiple and complicated functions of the dento-maxillary apparatus in congenital edentations. The study and development of a predominantly interdisciplinary treatment of congenital edentations. The scientific novelty of the study: it consisted in the elucidation of the clinical particularities of congenital dentitions, taking into account their increasing incidence. For this purpose, an interdisciplinary clinical protocol was developed, as well as a survey of the group of patients predisposed to the appearance of congenital edentations, a study conducted for the first time in the Republic of Moldova. The scientific problem solved: the development of new diagnostic methods and the establishment of interdisciplinary treatment for patients with congenital edentulous teeth that will reduce the number of registered cases of this anomaly of the dento-maxillary apparatus among the population of the Republic of Moldova. The theoretical significance and the applied value of the study: The research results allowed revealing the clinical and paraclinical particularities of patients with congenital edentulousness and the possibilities of their interdisciplinary treatment. Carrying out an in-depth study of the parameters of congenital edentations, will significantly supplement the knowledge about this anomaly of the dento-maxillary apparatus, specific to the respective geographical region, the essential aspects that could determine the appearance and progression of the given pathology will be made known. |
