IMPACTUL ECONOMIC AL OSTEOARTROZEI GENUNCHIULUI

Abstract

The economic impact of any illness is a burden for both the state health care providers, social care and for patients and their families. This expenditure may be estimated in the direct, indirect and intangible costs. Musculoskeletal diseases occupy a significant share of health charges, constituting in highly developed countries from 1-5% of GDP. Osteoarthritis is the illness with the highest morbidity among musculoskeletal disorders, which, causes about 50% of the disease burden in this group of conditions and is a major problem of public health.

Impactul economic al oricărei boli reprezintă o povară atât pentru stat, furnizorii de servicii medicale, asistența socială, cât și pentru pacienți și familiile acestora. Aceste costuri pot fi estimate în cadrul costurilor directe, indirecte sau intangibile. Patologiile musculoscheletale ocupă a pondere importantă din cheltuielile pentru sănătate, constituind în țările înalt dezvoltate de la 1-5% din PIB. Osteoartroza este boala cu cea mai înaltă morbiditate printre afecţiunile musculo-scheletice, care, determinând circa 50% din povara bolii în acest grup de boli, s-a conturat drept o problemă majoră de sănătate publică.[7]
