Abstract:	Forensic psychiatry at first glance seems to differ from one country to another due to different historical developments, different legal systems and different mental health systems. In spite of that, forensic psychiatry has several goals shared across countries. The European Commission recommendations are to harmonize the terminology and to respect the united standards in forensic psychiatric services. La prima vedere activitatea în domeniul psihiatriei judiciare diferă de la ţară la ţară datorită diferenţei în dezvoltarea istorică, în sistemul legislativ şi sistemului de sănătate mintală. Ne cătând la aceasta psihiatria judiciară are principale obiective comune pentru toate ţările. Recomandarea Comisiei Europene este de armonizare a terminologiei şi respectarea standardelor unificate în acordarea serviciilor psihiatrico-judiciare.
