Glaucomul – problemă majoră de sănătate publică și factorii ce o determină

Abstract

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide and a major public health problem. Despite important advances in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma during the last decades, people continue to go blind and maintain a high ocular disability. This paper reviews international references, especially of the last twenty years, about glaucoma burden and determinants of glaucoma disability.

Глаукома является главной причиной необратимой слепоты во всем мире и одной из главной причин инвалидности вследствие заболеваний глаза. Несмотря на достижение прогресса в диагностике и лечении глаукомы, пациенты продолжают слепнуть. В статье систематизированы и структурированы достижения последних лет в изучении проблемы глаукомы и факторов, влияющих на инвалидность вследствии глаукомы.
