Abstract: | Summary. Prostate cancer is a major problem and is the focus of global medicine. It is the second most common cause of death caused by oncological diseases. In most patients with prostatic cancer (PC), the pathology is diagnosed in stage with local spread and indiscriminate spread when it is already impossible to implement a radical method of treatment. The basic method of treatment of local PC in the early stages of metastatic process is widespread and hormonal therapy aimed at stimulating the androgen suppression of tumor cells. The retrospective study included 48 patients where patients were histologically confirmed with PC and 28 of these patients followed Calumid 150mg monotherapy and 20 patients underwent surgical treatment orchiectomy. The Calumid drug was generally well tolerated. The most frequently observed symptoms were ginecomasty and pain in mammary glands and hot flashes in control group patients. It was also demonstrated efficacy and benefit of bicalutamide (Calumid) compared with patients who have bilateral orchiectomy who have sexual activity. |
