dc.description.abstract Introduction. The aging process of the population is inevitable. We all finally reach the age of seniority. Unfortunately, the elderly face economic and social difficulties, many health problems, but the most they are affected by helplessness, loneliness, indifference of relatives and society.Purpose. Studying the phenomenon of old age in the conditions of the Republic of Moldova from a sociobioethical point of view.Results. The main social and bioethical problems faced by the elderly were highlighted, following the analysis of the specialized literature and statistical data such as demographic indices, retirement age, number of pension beneficiaries, average pension size, outpatient records.Conclusions. Following the research, we have established that the situation of seniors in the Republic of Moldova is deplorable. en_US
