dc.description.abstract Introduction. On October 1, 2015, the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was reorganized into the National Centre of Prehospital Emergency Medicine as a legal entity and represent a public medical institution of strategic importance directly subordinated to the Ministry of Health Labor and Social Protection. Purpose. The evolution of the development of the Prehospital Emergency Medical Service (PEMS), the benefits of the unique National System of PEMS, the achievement of the goals and priority development objectives were analyzed and evaluated. Material and methods. The data from the internal documents, from the Prehospital EMS Request Sheets were used and the statistical data of the emergency medical calls, provided by the medical statistics Department of NCPEM were analyzed. Results. The reorganization into a unified System of Emergency Medical Care (EMC) achieved the main goal of National Centre of Prehospital Emergency Medicine (NCPEM) - to provide the best possible EMC to the citizens from Republic of Moldova by endowment with new ambulances and modern equipment, construction of new PEMS subdivisions, eliminated the conditional boundaries between the served territory, development of scientific researches, etc. Conclusions. The opening of the new Prehospital Emergency Medical Service Points in rural area reduced the radius of the served territory and minimizing the prehospital time. en_US
