dc.description.abstract Introduction: The principles of bioethics must become that „golden middle” or „regulatory consciousness” that balances the duty of patient-centered care with public health safety in times of pandemic. Objective of the study: Highlighting the importance of bioethical principles in the autochthonous medical system in pandemic conditions. Material and Methods: Articles, magazines, specialized books from national and international sources were studied. As research methods, it was used: generalization, structuring, abstraction of concepts, induction, deduction, analysis and synthesis. Results: Bioethical principles ensure: individual and absolute value for each person in any situation; reasonable, non-exploitative and carefully considered procedures with fair distribution of costs and benefits; an obligation to do no harm, as well as a need to maximize well-being. Conclusions: 1. Bioethical principles are indispensable in relationships between medical practitioners and patients, practitioners and society, and society and patients. 2. The respect for human decency, the duty to do good and not to abuse, and respect for the criterion of equity have to become imperatives of the autochthonous medical system affected by COVID-19 crisis. en_US
