dc.description.abstract Introduction. High blood pressure is a current medical, economic and social problem, due to a high incidence in the population and the major risks involved. It is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases and remains a major cause of mortality, both worldwide and in the Republic of Moldova.Purpose. Studying hypertensive crises at the prehospital stage.Material and methods. The study was conducted based on the analysis of the Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance Request Sheets for Hypertensive and Cardiovascular Emergencies in the Republic of Moldova for 2017 - 2019 years.Results. The National Centre of Prehospital Emergency Medicine (NCPEM) from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova in 2019 has given Emergency Medical Care to 48.103 major cardiovascular emergencies. Of these, Hypertensive Emergencies (extreme hypertensive emergencies) were 23.570, which is 49%.Results. Grade II cardiovascular emergencies constituted 125.752 and 65.286 of these were Hypertensive Urgencies (common hypertensive emergencies), which constituted 51,9% and essential hypertension stage I and stage II were 33.732 or 26,8%. Hypertension is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Preventing hypertension by ensuring early management at the prehospital stage should be a priority for all levels in health systems. en_US
