Abstract:
This study demonstrates some provisional facts about the
major geriatric syndromes at the hospital stage (the type
and frequency of main geriatric syndromes and chronic cardiovascular diseases) according to age. Also, 6 domains of
quality of life were evaluated and established its correlation
with cardiovascular diseases and geriatric syndromes.
The results of evaluating daily activities, walking and balance,
cognitive status and depression, established a lower score
in patients older than 75 years. Also, the following geriatric
syndromes was diagnosed: frailty, constipation, urinary incontinence, iatrogenic, and fall syndrome with a higher score.
From chronic cardiovascular pathologies, a higher frequency
was recorded in hypertension, ischemic cardiomyopathy and
cardiac insufficiency at age over 75 years. Also, the quality
of life of this group of patients was at the low level.
